It's Valentine Week and you know what that means...Love is in the air! Shades of red and pink hearts are everywhere along with my personal favorites, candy and pink roses. Don't forget to go buy your "HALLMARK" valentine card, "because you care enough to send the very best", and my parents own a Hallmark store. (Had to get a commercial in for the family business.) Don't you just love those old Hallmark commercials. I'm not one to usually remember commercials, but I especially remember the one where the little boy gets a thank you card from his teacher thanking him for helping his classmate. The sweet part is, to him, helping his friend was not something to make a big deal about. He didn't do it to get praise. He just wanted to befriend and help his classmate.
If only, we had that same mentality and celebrated every day as if it were Valentine's Day. It's a shame, that we go to such efforts on this one day in particular, to make other's feel special and loved. Thankfully, our Heavenly Father doesn't just set aside one day a year to really show his love to us. His love is for us 24/7 and forever. His heart is perfect. He gives the same amount of love to everyone. "For God so loved the world". Just as many of us have experienced a broken heart, He also had a broken heart. He had a broken heart for us. So much, "that He gave His only son" Jesus to be crucified on a cross for our sins so we would not perish. "For whosoever believes in him will have eternal life". That is LOVE beyond all measures. God has a valentine for anyone who will accept it, any day of the year, because He cares enough to give the very best to us.
Wonderful post, Joanie!
